Journal Entry Six

ROAD TRIP!

On Saturday the 25th, I left with two college roommates, Steve and Carlos, on a trip to California. Our plan was to drive from Portland to Palm Springs, visiting as many museums as possible along the way.

In the Sacramento area we went to a rail museum, a military museum, a car museum, a local historical museum, and an Air Force museum. From there we drove to an air museum in Merced, and a naval weapons museum in China Lake. On our last spectating day we visited World War II air museums in Palm Springs and in Chino.

Because of bad weather we chose to drive home on Highway 101 instead of I-5. We drove from Marin County to Florence, then turned east to Eugene. A high point was seeing a sperm whale that had washed up on the beach at Crescent City. We covered 2400 miles in seven days.

More to come...
